Dissecting the Baseball Hall of Fame's Plaques: Class of 1944

There was just one person selected to the Hall for 1944, Kenesaw Mountain Landis, who was named to Cooperstown after his death on November 25 of that year.

Image: A. Stoic and serious nearly at all times, Landis is perfectly captured in his plaque image. Possible derived from this shot.
Name: A. Includes his full name, and he one of few Hall of Famers who were widely refereed to by their full name. Grover Cleveland Alexander comes to mind.
Teams: N/A.  No need for teams here.
Text: B. Aside from noting his tenure as baseball's first commissioner, the rest is mostly filler using words like "integrity," "leadership" and "respect." It could have noted his cracking down on gambling, most famous in the aftermath of the Black Sox scandal.
